Minutes of the Meeting of Wardington Parish Council held on Tuesday January 13 2015 at 7.30pm in Wardington Mermorial Hall

Minutes of the Previous Meeting (November 25): Agreed and signed

  1. Matters Arising

1.1. Social Housing

Due to the Wardington Housing Needs Survey showing lack of demand for affordable housing in the parish, the Council decided to not continue support for the scheme.

1.2. Submission to the CDC Development Plan Hearing

Council to support the case of concerns being put to the hearing by South Northants District Council regarding plans to develop land on this side of Junction 11 of the M40.

1.3. Williamscot Noticeboard

Repair of noticeboard to be undertaken later in the year when the wood has dried out.

1.4. Litter Bins

Three new litter bins to be erected

  1. in the bus shelter on the A361
  2. in the bus shelter by Greensward
  3. by the telephone box in Upper Wardington

   2. Appointment of New Parish Clerk

Mitchell Hickman of 3, The Old Vicarage, Lower Wardington was appointed Parish Clerk.

Mr Hickman needs to develop his own full time career. In due course this is likely to make the part time work of a Clerk impractical. As a result the Council remains open to interest from other applicants later this year.

  1. Precept for 2015/2016

Council agreed not to seek an increase in the Precept for the coming year.

  1. Meeting Dates for 2015

The Parish Council will continue to meet in the Memorial Hall on Tuesday evenings normally at 7.30pm. The dates of the monthly meetings until January 2016 are:

February 17, March 24, April 21, May 19, June 23,

July 28, September 1, October 13, November 24, January 12

  1. Playground 200 Club

Membership of the Playground 200 Club is declining.

The Council set itself the task between now and Easter of trying to foster new leadership by networking, particularly among mums and dads in the local community.

Grass cutting contract renewed with Escapes Landscaping for 2015. David Gowton promises to take appropriate action if there were problems in the future as long as he was made aware personally.
