The Ride+Stride is a fun day out for all the family that raises fund for historic churches – and St Mary Magdalene, Wardington is on the route.

Ride+Stride is a sponsored bike ride or walk in which people from all over the county walk or cycle between churches, exploring and enjoying the countryside from Hook Norton to Henley, Burford to Bicester. The money raised helps to preserve some of Oxfordshire’s 650 churches, chapels and meeting houses that are at risk of falling into disrepair.

Please visit http://ohct.org.uk/ride-stride/ to sign up, or if you are available to help by welcoming visitors to St Mary Magdalene, Wardington for an hour or so during the day, please do call Sue Upton on 758398 or email her at redhouse2006@btinternet.com

With hundreds to choose from, there is no shortage of fantastic buildings to visit and support. For example why not check out the glorious fan vaulted chapel at North Leigh, see if you can find the decaying corpse of Alice, Duchess of Suffolk in Ewelme, count the gargoyles in St Mary’s Adderbury or marvel at the mosaics in St Mary’s Buckland?
