Coronation celebrations, Saturday 6th May, from 5pm

Although there are no village-wide plans to celebrate the Coronation, there are gatherings in the village on Saturday 6th May from 5pm to toast our new King & Queen. If you wish to join in, please bring an umbrella, chair, picnic rug, children's tea, cake, sandwiches, a bottle / drink and some nibbles as you wish. Everybody is welcome, there is no formality, it's just a nice excuse for the community to get together. Gatherings are either on School Green (outside Clive & Philippa Hunt’s house, opposite the church) or near the Old Pool in Upper Wardington (where we have the carol singing), but not underneath the trees. The Banbury Guardian has asked for a photo of Captain Tom's Flag. We are asking for all villagers who can to come along to the bus shelter in the centre of the village (opposite the Memorial Hall) at 11am tomorrow, Sunday 30th April 2023, for a village photo with the flag. Whether it will make the front page, who knows!

Coronation celebrations, Saturday 6th May, from 5pm

This year's Carols on the Green is from 6pm to 6:45pm on Wednesday 21st December on the green in Upper Wardington. We will be accompanied by the Wardington Hand Bell Ringers as usual. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served. We will be collecting for the Friends of St Mary Magdalene - please bring some cash and give generously. The mulled wine and mince pies are free, however we greatly appreciate a donation of at least £1.50 each. The event will last for 45 minutes.
